Introduction: Insulin resistance (IR) and visceral obesity, elements of metabolic syndrome (MS), contribute to hyperandogenaemia and may lead to hirsutism and other signs of hyperandrogenism. Little is known about the influence of metformin therapy (MET) on hormonal profile in women with MS and IR without menstrual irregularity.Aim: To asses the influence of MET on sex steroids concentrations in young women with MS.Methods: The stu...

Introduction: Metabolically obese normal weight (MONW) subjects, despite their normal BMI, present metabolic disturbances characteristic of abdominal obesity. One of the reasons might be subclinical inflammation caused by the fat tissue excess. The aim of the study was to asses the association between accumulation of fat (especially abdominal) and concentration of selected proinflammatory cytokines – interleukins (IL-6, IL-18) and C-reactive protein (CRP).<p class="ab...

The endocannabinoid system has been suspected to contribute to the association of visceral fat accumulation with metabolic diseases. Insulin resistance play important role in etiology in PCOS. The aim of our study was developed the role of CNR1 polymorphisms (rs806368, rs12720071, rs1049353, 806381, rs10485170, rs6454674, rs2023239) in metabolic disorders in woman with PCOS. 88 woman (20–35 years old) with PCOS (recognized using Rotterdam criteria) and 77 woman (20–3...
